The SEXTON BLAKE LIBRARY
|
Cover Gallery 2 |
Recent acquisitions have highlighted another
pulpoid feature of the Sexton Blake Library covers - the cheesecake
tendency! To the right: Story's first credited entry in the SBL, no. 372, Murder - With Love!, December 1956. (No art credit) The cover blurb reads: "Author of the book of the Hitchcock film: THE TROUBLE WITH HARRY" |
|
Story's second SBL, no.374; "Jill was a child of the sun..." Also a child of the Barbie doll factory, if the uncredited cover artist is to be believed. | No. 436. Artist De Seta might even have read the book; a torch and keys actually feature in the plot. But is that meant to be Blake or his pal Splash Kirby? |
Apologies for the colour balance on the cover scans. Copies of the SBL come in a variety of conditions, pretty poor at best. |
