 The SEXTON BLAKE LIBRARY
Cover Gallery 2

Recent acquisitions have highlighted another pulpoid feature of the Sexton Blake Library covers - the cheesecake tendency!

To the right: Story's first credited entry in the SBL, no. 372, Murder - With Love!, December 1956.

(No art credit)

The cover blurb reads: "Author of the book of the Hitchcock film: THE TROUBLE WITH HARRY"

Story's second SBL, no.374; "Jill was a child of the sun..." Also a child of the Barbie doll factory, if the uncredited cover artist is to be believed. No. 436. Artist De Seta might even have read the book; a torch and keys actually feature in the plot. But is that meant to be Blake or his pal Splash Kirby?
Apologies for the colour balance on the cover scans. Copies of the SBL come in a variety of conditions, pretty poor at best.
